Personal watercraft (jet skis) are the fastest, most fun, and easiest-to-own boats on the water. Factory-sponsored financing from Sea-Doo, Yamaha, and Kawasaki is often the best deal available, sometimes even cheaper than a bank loan.

Jet skis and personal watercraft (PWC) sit at a convenient price point. Expensive enough to justify financing for most buyers, but small enough that rates are competitive and approval is quick. A typical new 3-seater Sea-Doo or WaveRunner runs $15,000 to $20,000, with loan terms usually capped at 6 or 7 years.
Unlike larger boats, PWC financing is dominated by manufacturer-captive lenders: Sea-Doo Finance (BRP), Yamaha Motor Finance, and Kawasaki Motors Finance. These lenders aggressively subsidise promotional APRs to move units, and those rates (often 3.99% to 5.99%) frequently beat what you'd get from a bank or credit union.
Buying a second unit (most buyers buy two or more) often unlocks additional rebates and multi-unit pricing. A single trailer can typically hold two jet skis, so the typical financed package includes two PWCs plus a trailer, bringing total loan amounts into the $30,000 to $45,000 range.
PWC models break down into four broad categories. Your use case determines which one fits.
Lightweight, playful PWC aimed at first-time buyers and kids. 60-90hp, lower price. Sea-Doo Spark dominates this category.
$7,500 - $11,500The most common PWC category. 130-180hp, comfortable for 2-3 riders, typical for casual weekend use. Models: Sea-Doo GTI/GTI SE, Yamaha VX Cruiser, Kawasaki STX-160.

$17,000 - $22,0003-seater PWC with premium suspension seats, larger fuel tanks, audio systems, and long-range comfort. Models: Sea-Doo GTX Limited 300, Yamaha FX Cruiser SVHO.
$18,000 - $25,000Single-rider, trick-oriented machines. Smaller market, closer to dirt-bike DNA. Brands: Kawasaki SX-R, Yamaha SuperJet, Krash Industries.
$9,000 - $12,000Specialized PWC platforms with rod holders, coolers, and storage. Growing niche. Models: Sea-Doo FishPro Scout/Sport/Trophy.
$15,000 - $25,000Typical financing terms by PWC tier. Note that multi-unit purchases often qualify for better pricing and multi-rebate stacking.

These factors determine the interest rate and terms you'll be offered.
The single biggest factor. Scores above 720 get the best rates. 680+ is considered good. Below 640 may require a subprime lender.
Larger down payments (20%+) reduce lender risk and typically unlock better rates. Some lenders require 10% minimum.
Shorter terms (5-7 years) often have lower rates than longer terms (12-20 years), though monthly payments will be higher.
New boat loans typically carry lower rates (0.5%-1.5% less) than used boat loans. Some lenders won't finance boats over 20 years old.
Larger loans ($25K+) may qualify for better rates and longer terms. Very small loans under $10K may have higher rates or fees.
Secured loans (boat as collateral) offer significantly lower rates than unsecured personal loans. Most boat loans are secured.
